Glenn is the General Partner based in our Knoxville, TN office. He brings to Battelle Ventures/Innovation Valley Partners 20 years of experience in technology commercialization, private-equity investment and venture-fund management.

Prior to joining Battelle Ventures/Innovation Valley Partners, Glenn was managing partner at Academy Funds, an early-stage venture-capital firm that he co-founded to focus on commercializing and spinning out technology from major research institutions. During his tenure with Academy, Glenn raised two funds; managed multiple offices; and led investments in approximately 30 portfolio companies, which included start-ups in the areas of advanced materials, cleantech, information technology, life sciences and semiconductors.

Glenn has also served as the senior director in charge of Mergers & Acquisitions/Strategic Planning and Business Development at Del Monte Fresh Produce, a wholly owned subsidiary of publicly traded Fresh Del Monte Produce (NYSE:FDP), based in Coral Gables, Fla.

His experience in finance began as an associate and vice president of the Ventana Growth Funds, an international venture capital firm based in Irvine, Calif. At Ventana, Glenn developed and managed the North America Environmental Fund, which focused on energy and environmental technologies in North America, and involved broad experience with the international capital markets in North America, Europe and Asia.

Glenn holds an MBA in finance from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA in Los Angeles, Calif., and a BA in international relations from Pomona College in Claremont, Calif.

Glenn currently serves as Chairman & CEO of Ampulse Corporation, Chairman of Aldis, Inc. and as a director of Planar Energy Devices, Inc.
