Aldis is the creator of the GridSmart solution for video vehicle detection and traffic data collection, which enables state and municipal partners to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, lower emissions and improve road safety.

The GridSmart solution uses an ultra-wide-angle camera that provides horizon-to-horizon visibility, along with advanced and proprietary algorithms for vehicle detection and tracking, to apply logic to the entire intersection from one camera.

Working from virtual "loops" and user-defined detection zones, the GridSmart solution optimizes traffic flow by providing real-time data to the traffic signal network or central system. It also provides valuable traffic data for transportation planning, such as vehicle counts, average speed, and length-based vehicle classification. General Partner Kef Kasdin is a Board director.
