| Ampulse Corp.
Ampulse is a developer of film-silicon photovoltaic (PV) solar cell technology. Spun out of the U.S. Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) with $1 million+ in pre-seed funding from Battelle Ventures and its affiliate, Innovation Valley Partners, the company utilizes proven and patented manufacturing techniques and materials developed in partnership between the DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and ORNL. Targeting the high-conversion efficiencies achievable in crystalline silicon PV (c-Si) and the manufacturing cost advantages of emerging thin-film PV (TF-PV), film-silicon PV integrates the best of both approaches into a true next-generation PV cell technology. Recipient of the Best Early Seed Investment of the Year Award at NREL's 2008 Clean Energy Industry Growth Forum, Ampulse is based in Denver, Colo. Kef Kasdin sits on the Board.
